2011 American Music Awards Nominees Announced

The Band Perry can add even more success to their tally sheet now that they have received three nominations for the 2011 American Music Awards, tying with Taylor Swift for most nominated country artist. In the past year, the sibling trio -- Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry -- have gone from up-and-comer to red hot country status, thanks in large part to their self-titled debut album that has gone triple platinum.

"Although we've planned, prepared and prayed for this moment for the past 13 years, we're still a little overwhelmed by the warm welcome we've been given," said the trio in a press statement when the triple platinum status was announced. "Birthdays have always been celebrated big in this family, so to have a one-year-old album and hear that [the song] 'If I Die Young' has touched so many people ... it makes us feel that we're sharing our celebration with all of you."

The Band Perry's latest award nominations are for Favorite Duo or Group - Country, Favorite Album (for their self-titled debut),and Sprint New Artist of the Year. Swift is nominated for Favorite Female Artist - Country, Favorite Album - Country (for 'Speak Now') and Artist of the Year.

Jason Aldean is nominated for two American Music Awards. Other country nominees include Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Sara Evans. The awards will be broadcast live at 8PM ET, Nov. 20, on ABC. For more information including how to vote for your favorite artists, check the Awards' website.
