The Song of the Year category rewards the songwriters, publishers and artist for their masterpiece. Unlike previous years, there isn't a clear favorite for this award at the 2012 ACMs in Las Vegas. Typically, there is one song that fans and industry folks just can't get enough of, like Miranda Lambert's 'The House That Built Me,' which won unanimously in 2011.

'Crazy Girl' and 'You and Tequila' are the only two songs that could potentially sweep the Single and Song of the Year categories. Vince Gill's nomination for 'Threaten Me With Heaven' was a surprise, but certainly not an undeserved surprise. 'Just a Kiss' by Lady Antebellum was the year's biggest hit commercially, and Dierks Bentley's 'Home' is the newest of the bunch.
