Many of the major 2012 ACM Awards categories enjoy very little turnover. Often it seems like the same artists get nominated year after year, and this year is no different in the Vocal Group of the Year category, with the exception of Eli Young Band being a nice surprise for fans.

Rascal Flatts won the award seven straight times before being supplanted by Lady Antebellum in 2010. The 'Need You Now' trio have won the last two, and it will be tough to keep them off the stage and prevent them from accepting a third straight honor. The Band Perry are in the position Lady Antebellum was in three years ago, seemingly on the cusp of greatness. Zac Brown Band are regular nominees, but so far have very little hardware for their hard work.
