2013 Taste of Country Music Festival Lineup Profile: Montgomery Gentry
It’s going to be a rocking good time when Montgomery Gentry take the stage at the Taste of Country Music Festival, which runs June 13-15 at Hunter Mountain in New York. The duo of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry are famous for their high-energy live shows that owe as much to classic Southern rock as they do to country music.
Beginning with ‘Tattoos & Scars’ in 1999, Montgomery Gentry have recorded a string of hit albums. That debut went Platinum on the strength of hits like ‘Hillbilly Shoes’ and ‘Lonely and Gone,’ while ‘My Town’ and ‘You Do Your Thing’ have also been certified Platinum.
Montgomery Gentry’s trademark blend of rocking, testosterone-fueled tracks and anthems celebrating small town values have earned them more than 20 hit singles, including ‘If You Ever Stop Loving Me,’ ‘Something to Be Proud Of,’ ‘Lucky Man’ and ‘Back When I Knew It All.’
In 2011 the duo signed with Average Joes Entertainment and released ‘Rebels on the Run,’ featuring the hit ‘Where I Come From.’ They followed it up with a digital-only EP titled ‘Friends and Family,’ which features their current single, ‘I’ll Keep the Kids.’ Montgomery Gentry have been successful critically as well as commercially, winning a long string of CMA and ACM awards, most notably repeating many times as Vocal Duo of the Year.
The veteran road warriors are a proven live act, so it’s fair to say fans can expect a strong set of classic Montgomery Gentry, mixed in with some newer tracks and soon-to-be-classics, when they perform. The pair will join a lineup that includes Lady Antebellum, Willie Nelson, Trace Adkins, Hunter Hayes, Billy Currington, Justin Moore, Blackberry Smoke, Joe Nichols, Gloriana, Dustin Lynch and many more at the 2013 Taste of Country Music Festival.
