Results of 2014 CMA Awards Predictions – Readers vs. Taste of Country Staff

The 2014 CMA Awards proved a little trickier to predict than a number of past shows, surprising both the staff of Taste of Country and our readers.

Before every major awards show, ToC staff and readers face off and pick their winners for each of the major awards. Readers and staff both picked correctly for seven out of 10 ACM categories in April, but we all could have done better by playing a blindfolded game of Pin the Award on the Winner this time around!

Both staff and readers came up short in five of the 10 major categories, including Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Vocal Group, New Artist and Song of the Year. Readers won the Album of the Year category, while our staff accurately predicted both Single and Music Video of the Year, pulling out the win by a narrow 4-3 margin -- although that's still an "F" by any standards.

The overall record now stands at three wins for Team ToC, one win for the readers and two ties. We're looking for a re-match at the ACMs in April -- we double-dog dare you!
