Thomas Rhett has been creating quite the buzz in the country world as of late, and now, he's been announced as a 2014 Taste of Country Music Festival performer!

The young star-in-the-making is busting out of dad Rhett Akins' shadow and making a big name for himself as both a talented singer and songwriter. Rhett is one of many country artists that will highlight ToC Music Festival at Hunter Mountain in New York from June 13-15, 2014.

Rhett's very first songwriting credit became a pretty big hit -- for none other than Jason Aldean. Rhett wrote Aldean's 2010 single 'I Ain't Ready to Quit,' claiming himself a spot as a talented songwriter, just like Dad. In 2012, Rhett released his very first single as an artist, 'Something to Do With My Hands,' which made it to No. 15 on the country charts. He followed that with two more hits in 'Beer With Jesus' and 'It Goes Like This.'

Late last year, Rhett released his highly anticipated debut album 'It Goes Like This,' which includes all three of his previous singles in addition to his current hit, 'Get Me Some of That.'

The 23-year-old has also had songwriting creds that have climbed the charts -- he's responsible for Aldean's '1994,' Lee Brice's 'Parking Lot Party' and Florida Georgia Line's 'Round Here.'

The 2014 Taste of Country Music Festival has a huge lineup of performers, including Brad PaisleyDierks BentleyBrantley GilbertRandy HouserThompson Square and Craig Morgan. As time draws near, other artists are expected to be announced.
