Brantley Gilbert is setting the record straight: he may look like a bad boy, but he's a full-on mama's boy!

Gilbert's 'One Hell of an Amen' is now broadcasting on country radio, and fans have noticed a bit of his mother's influence in the heartfelt and poignant lyrics. That prompted the singer to speak up about her impact on his life in a recent interview.

"I think I definitely get my soft side from my mother," says 29-year-old Gilbert. "She’s definitely an angel sent from above. How can that not rub off on a man? What can I say, I’m a mama’s boy."

An angel, indeed -- in fact, Gilbert's song 'Indiana's Angel' is about his mama.

"[It's] just talking about how strong of a woman she is," the star told Taste of Country a few years back. "You know she moved out of Indiana, moved down here with my dad, didn’t really have any friends, made some friends and just pretty much … My dad and her got divorced recently. And she’s been pretty strong through the whole thing. I’ve kind of been there for her. The roles have kind of switched a little bit. But it just kind of talks about the angel she is."

Well, it's a good thing that Gilbert and his mom are so tight, because that the newly-engaged singer is starting to plan a wedding, we're sure he's asking Mama Gilbert for lots of advice!
