The Oak Ridge Boys' William Lee Golden tied the knot on Saturday (Aug. 29) with a friend of nearly three decades, Simone Staley.

A small ceremony took place in Nashville with close friends and fellow Oak Ridge Boys Duane Allen, Richard Sterban and Joe Bonsall surrounding the couple.

The road to the altar wasn't a conventional love story, though — instead, it's one that sounds more like a fairytale that took its time. Staley first landed her eyes on Golden when she was 18 years old and picked up a copy of the Oak Ridge Boys’ Together album. She noticed the long-haired Golden right away and was drawn to him. She saw the boys perform in concert twice before actually coming face to face with the country star.

The two met backstage during a show at Knott’s Berry Farm. The attraction was instant, and the pair became good friends for the next couple of years. The relationship dwindled off after a show at the Houston Rodeo, and that would be the last time they would see each other until 2009.

The story then fast-forwards 27 years, when both Golden and Staley were grieving over the recent loss of of their mothers. They re-kindled a friendship and began a new chapter in their lives, an in the summer of 2013, Golden extended an invitation to Staley to travel and meet members of his family. From there, the rest is history.

“It’s been the most beautiful experience, together,” Golden says.

The couple stunned on their big day, with Staley glowing in a champagne-colored gown and Golden looking handsome in a flattering black suit.

After the ceremony Staley updated her Twitter followers by saying, "I am married to my beloved William Lee Golden. I am so blessed to be a newlywed, mother and grandmother.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!
