2012 ACM Award for Single Record of the Year – ‘You and Tequila’

Kenny Chesney scored a couple of Grammy nominations for this song, but didn't come home with the honors. Neither song that topped this duo at the Grammys are nominated at the ACMs so that should be good news for Chesney fans, right? Maybe. Often there's a divide between how country industry voters and the broader music industry thinks.

This song will win if: Voters are sick of Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson. A win seems more likely in the Song of the Year category, which rewards songwriters and artists. The production of 'You and Tequila' is deserving of the nomination, but there's a strong argument that 'Don't You Wanna Stay' is a better package.
