2012 ACM Award for Song of the Year – Eli Young Band, ‘Crazy Girl’
Critics were somewhat unsure how to grade 'Crazy Girl,' but fan support made it the biggest hit of the Eli Young Band's career. The lyrics are about the adorably crazy moments a woman may have and how a guy has to ease her mind with a sincere hug and an "I love you." It was written by Lee Brice and Liz Rose, who is one of the sharpest songwriters in country music.
This song will win if: Voters think like fans and not industry nerds. The song would be a favorite if the ACM Awards were entirely fan-voted. EYB sold over a million copies of this single, and it was a huge request song for radio. The group has a better chance of winning the Single of the Year award.
