After winning over the judges were her first and second performances on 'American Idol' tonight, Lauren Alaina closed out the night with a rendition of Lee Ann Womack's massive 2000 hit 'I Hope You Dance.'

Alaina learned of the judges' song choice via a text message while visiting her hometown of Rossville, Georgia. "You think I can kill that one or what?" she asked the crowd that was there to greet her.

With her hair pinned back and sporting a stunning baby blue dress, Alaina belted out an emotional take on Womack's signature tune. She was backed by a full string section for the performance.

For the judging, Jennifer Lopez was up first. She pointed to the goosebumps on her arm, and said, "You see that right there. That does not lie. Those are not for sale; those only come out when somebody makes them come out. You gave me 'goosies' from head to toe. That was beautiful. I'm going to dare to say that you won that round for me already."

"Lee Ann's a good friend," remarked Randy Jackson. "I'm sure she's watching and going, 'Dude, you slayed it,' because you did."

"You walked out here like you owned the Grand Ole Opry," said Steven Tyler. "You sang that song so perfectly."

Backstage, Alaina said, "I've never wanted anything more in my life. I say that every week, but each week I want to make it [to the final] even more."
