Skylar Laine almost didn't make it to the Solo Day stage on 'American Idol' during the Hollywood rounds to cover the Band Perry's 'You Lie.' She had fainted earlier in the day and had to go to the hospital to get some intravenous liquids to rehydrate. That must've done the trick, since Lane came out raring to go with a down-home, foot-stomping version of the trio's song.

Laine's performance was good enough to have judge Steven Tyler stop her before she exited the stage. The Aerosmith frontman then proclaimed that her performance was one of the best of the day.

Laine's voice was deep and husky, a bit deeper than that of Kimberly Perry, and she commanded the viewer's attention when she was on the stage. The 17 year old came alive during the performance and had a real affinity for and control of the song. She could very well be this season's Lauren Alaina -- and y'all know where she ended up.

Seriously, you'd never think that Skylar fainted a few hours before based on the strength of her performance of the Band Perry tune. Judge Jennifer Lopez even said Lane reminds her of Reba McEntire, which is a huge compliment for the young singer.

At the end of the day, Skylar Laine was pushed through to yet another round on 'American Idol.' Congratulations to the country gal!
