Jon Stone and Kristy Osmunson of country duo American Young stopped by Taste of Country Nights and shared their incredibly emotional and powerful song, 'The Train Song,' which actually led to a lot of healing in Osmunson's life.

She explains that the song was written about her mother. Growing up in a small town in Idaho, Osmunson's parents divorced when she was young. "My mom married my step dad and they had this kind of tumultuous marriage, and so I had moved out of the house when I was 14." She adds that she had "not really spoken to my mother most of high school."

Then, a call came. The songstress was sitting in history class during her senior year of high school, when she received an intercom call that her mom had been hit by a train. "This is the story about after that, and that whole experience," recalls Osmunson.

Fans may marvel at how well the talented singer can keep it together while performing this highly personal song night after night. She admits it wasn't always the case, and tells the story of playing a showcase in San Francisco.

"I lost my cookies. I started sobbing in the middle of this big show ... I kind of did my healing in front of everybody. It was very cathartic and very therapeutic." She also admits that the song has healed many relationships in her life -- bringing beauty out of a truly devastating experience.
