No. 45: Anne Murray, ‘Could I Have This Dance’ – Top 100 Country Songs

Canadian-born Anne Murray scored nine No. 1 singles on the American charts, including her 1980 signature waltz, 'Could I Have This Dance.' The country song fueled her 'Anne Murray's Greatest Hits' album to sell more than four million copies, and was also included on the commercially successful 'Urban Cowboy' soundtrack.

The No. 45 entry on the Top 100 Country Songs countdown also became Murray's tenth Top 40 mainstream hit and 13th No. 1 Canadian single. Murray is credited as the first Canadian female solo singer to earn a No. 1 single and gold-selling album in the United States.
