The Song Suffragettes took on a pop superstar this week during their weekly #LetTheGirlsPlay show in downtown Nashville, offering fans an Ariana Grande cover.

Alana Springsteen, Lena Stone, Kalie Shorr, Chloe Gilligan and Laura Nicholson composed the lineup for the Monday night show at the Listening Room on July 10, choosing Grande's "One Last Time" as their weekly group cover to end the show.

Shorr starts the song and performs the chords on acoustic guitar, with Gilligan chiming in with her unique tone followed by Stone's powerful, clear vocal turn. Springsteen and Nicholson also get turns at the mic during the performance of Grande's song, which was a hit all over the world when it was released as the final single from My Everything in 2015. The Suffragettes' rendition replaces Grande's EDM arrangement with a sprightly acoustic bounce.

The Suffragettes' weekly gigs serve as a showcase for the most talented up-and-coming female singer-songwriters in Nashville, and Taste of Country supports the movement by featuring the covers each week and a new artist feature each month. Gilligan is this month's featured artist, while Shorr is a former spotlight artist whom ToC named one of our RISERS for 2017.

Check Shorr out below in a special RISERS performance of one of her original songs titled "Nothin' New." There's also an exclusive photo shoot and interview about her SiriusXM breakthrough single, "Fight Like a Girl."
