Ashley Monroe celebrated the release of her album, The Blade, with a party! The singer threw a musical shindig at Nashville's the Basement, despite being sick just before taking the venue's stage. She stopped by the ToC Nights studio and confessed that "the magic of music" got her through.

On July 22, two days before her album dropped, Monroe performed songs from it at her release party. She says although she couldn't see everyone's reactions, she could feel it in the air.

“When it’s quiet I know everyone’s listening, and it makes me so happy," Monroe explains.

The blonde admits she wasn't nervous once she began to sing. In fact, the music cured her! Monroe says she was sick just before going on stage, but while she was there she felt better.

“I’m not nervous once I'm up there singing, I’m not nervous at all … actually, right before that show I was really sick and I was nervous I was gonna start feeling bad. Once I started singing all sickness went away. The magic of music I guess," she reflects.

Luckily she made it through, because some very special individuals joined her at the party. Miranda Lambert made her first public appearance since news of her divorce at the show, and Vince Gill and Striking Matches also made a cameo.
