Following the news that Lee Ann Womack and her long-time record label, MCA Nashville, ended their professional relationship, Ashton Shepherd has done the same.

Shepherd signed to Universal Music Group's roster in 2007 and released two albums under the MCA Nashville branch. Her 2008 album, 'Sounds So Good,' spawned hit singles 'Takin' Off This Pain,' as well as the title track, and her followup release, 'Where Country Grows,' included her most recent hits like 'Look It Up.'

Shepherd is reportedly looking for songs for her third "to be announced" album on a new label. The music is said to be being produced by Mike McGuire, who once played drums for the country band Shenandoah.

Shepherd's label departure comes just after the recent news of Josh Thompson leaving RCA Records, Kellie Pickler‘s departure from BNA Nashville, Ronnie Dunn walking away from his deal with Sony Music, and as mentioned, Lee Ann Womack's parting of ways with MCA Nashville.

We wish Ashton Shepherd the best of luck in her latest venture.
