After singing a classic Christmas song early during the 2012 ''CMA Country Christmas' special on Thursday night, the Band Perry returned to the stage to perform a heartfelt religious Christmas song called 'Some Children See Him.' Instead of offering harmony behind singer Kimberly Perry, Neil Perry shared lead. It was a pleasant change of pace.

Middle sibling Reid looked on and tapped the strings of his acoustic bass as the two traded verses. The trio was surrounded by two dozen children dressed in their Christmas best. They gazed up eagerly at the seated group, as if it they were posing for a Norman Rockwell painting.

Before beginning, host Jennifer Nettles asked the Perrys about their good old days, and Kimberly Perry revealed that her excitement for Christmas sometimes was too much to handle. "Well I just would never go to sleep," she said, admitting she wasn't sure how Santa slipped in without her hearing.

For the Perry siblings, Christmas begins on Thanksgiving night, when the family puts Aaron Neville's holiday album on and begin singing along. This December they'll return home to the mountains for some much-needed time away. The Band Perry don't return to the road until Jan. 10.
