Team Blake’s Barrett Baber stayed true to country during his final call for votes on Monday night (Dec. 14). The Voice contestant performed a classic with mentor Blake Shelton, and a current hit in Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man.”

The Rhett cover was a soulful addition to the performance finale of the hit NBC show. Baber would also bring his soul to a version of “Silent Night,” but more viewers were hearing Rhett’s hit from Tangled Up for the first time. A misty lake set up a romantic scene for this powerful love song. Baber seemed very comfortable with the personal, sensual message.

Shelton is a busy man with two of Season 9's four finalists. In addition to singing with 17-year-old Emily Ann Roberts, he took the stage with Baber to cover Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy.” The two men gave a more energetic performance than Shelton did with Roberts, but the song calls for it.

Either Baber, Roberts, Team Adam’s Jordan Smith or Team Gwen’s Jeffery Austin will be crowned the new champion of The Voice Tuesday night. If either Team Blake singer wins, it will be the star's fifth winner in nine seasons and country music’s fourth trophy. Shelton has already committed to Season 10, which begins in February on NBC.
