Best song? Best album? Best tour? Best reason to drink? Our staff has picked the Best of Country Music 2016 (so far). Watch as Taste of Country's Billy Dukes breaks down the year.

Other categories on this list include: Best Dressed of 2016, Best Comeback of 2016 and Best Country Newcomer of 2016. Only one artist pops up to "win" multiple categories. This year has brought tremendous variety to country music, with newcomers matching legends for the biggest hits and progressive country rockers competing with traditionalists. Has country music ever sounded so diverse?

Jake Owen, Keith Urban, Maren Morris, Tim McGraw and Miranda Lambert are a few of the artists that you'll find on this Best of Country Music 2016 list. CMT's Nashville and Merle Haggard also line up for superlatives.

Of course there will be more moments to raise a glass to in 2016 — better songs, better albums and better dressed artists may come along this fall, so look for this mid-year report to be updated before the calendar flips over. As always, if there is a song, tour, album or newcomer you think should be No. 1, make your case in the comments section below. And be sure to subscribe to Taste of Country's YouTube channel so you never miss breaking country music news and analysis!
