Does anyone in country music have a smoother voice than Bill Anderson? Vince Gill comes close as a modern example of a skillfully soft delivery, but Anderson was an original. This hit from 1963 is considered his signature song. The only discussion necessary was where it should land on the Top 100 Country Songs list.

'Still' was a No. 1 hit for seven non-consecutive weeks that year and was the most played country song of 1963. It was also a crossover hit. While it's rarely heard on the radio today, the sweet story still set a high bar for how to pen a love song.
