Kenny Chesney, Eric Church Named Billboard Touring Awards Finalists

Billboard recently announced their 2015 Billboard Touring Awards, and the country genre comes out on top with Eric Church and Kenny Chesney named finalists in the Breakthrough category and Top Draw category, respectively.

Church is a finalist alongside 5 Seconds of Summer and Ed Sheeran in the Breakthrough category, while Chesney finds himself among Top Draws, which is based on total concert attendance, with Taylor Swift and One Direction. Meanwhile, Swift is among the Top Tour finalists alongside One Direction and the Rolling Stones.

The Top Package finalists also include several country bills like Florida Georgia Line's tour featuring Thomas Rhett and Frankie Ballard; Kenny Chesney's Big Revival Tour featuring Jake Owen, Chase Rice, Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Brantley Gilbert, Old Dominion and Miranda Lambert; and Luke Bryan’s Kick the Dust Up Tour featuring Florida Georgia Line, Randy Houser, Dustin Lynch and Thomas Rhett.

The 2015 Billboard Touring Awards take place on Nov. 19 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.

Chesney is set to headline the 2016 Taste of Country Music Festival in June, while Church will lead the way at WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn. next August.
