We knew Billy Currington would bring a great show to 2015 Country Jam after his smashing set at Taste of Country Music Festival the weekend prior. His performance at Grand Junction, Colorado's longstanding festival had fans on their feet throughout the entire hour, and it felt like quintessential summertime: hot sun, red Solo cups and country music.

Wearing a gray T-shirt and a black baseball cap, Currington was on fire from the start, as if he'd downed three cups of coffee before he was due onstage. The country star's 2009 hit "That's How Country Boys Roll" brought fans back to his third studio record, but he played hits new and old, including "Love Done Gone" (which George Strait was originally going to record), "Don't It," "Pretty Good at Drinking Beer," "We Are Tonight" and "Must Be Doin' Something Right."

Another highlight from the 41-year-old singer was "People Are Crazy," during which Currington's lyrics proved true. "God is great / Beer is good / And people are crazy," the crowd chanted.

But the definite high point of his show was his cover of "Uptown Funk." The crowd danced to the Bruno Mars hit like nobody was watching, and even the security guards were bobbing their heads to the beat.

Currington began his encore with Garth Brooks' all-familiar "Friends in Low Places" before closing out with "Good Directions."

He had such a blast onstage, he stayed for a bit longer than most, high-fiving fans, waving to those on the lawn and looking around at the massive crowd in disbelief. If summer can include Currington, we'd like it to be forever, please.

Tim McGraw was Saturday night's (June 20) headliner, but 2015 Country Jam also included sets from Keith Urban and the Band Perry.
