Billy Ray Cyrus finished up his five season run as Hannah Montana's dad in January, and now he's accepted a role as a father to a cast member of another popular cable series. Beginning in November, Cyrus will play Judd Ridge, father of the new southern rich kid on the CW's '90210.'

Entertainment Weekly reports that Cyrus' character will be a country star, so the actor/singer should have no trouble finding inspiration. His new TV son, Austin (played by Justin Deeley), was introduced last week in the season premiere episode as a love interest for Naomi (Annalynne McCord). IMDB reports that Deeley also played a character named Tyler during a late episode last season.

It's not clear how many episodes Cyrus will appear in, but the life of a country singer would allow his character to drift in and out of the plot line. Previously he starred on the Pax Network series 'Doc,' in addition to multiple guest appearances. Earlier this year, Cyrus released an album of patriotic songs called 'I'm American.'
