Billy Ray Cyrus has decided to change his name after a career of several decades, but that’s not the only head-scratching decision the quirky country singer has ever made. Do you remember when he re-did his biggest hit as a rap track?

Cyrus — which will now be his only name, since the singer has announced he is dropping “Billy Ray” from his name in August 2017 — released “Achy Breaky 2” in 2014, and to say the video is eye-catching would be a vast understatement. The video features rapper Buck 22, a bizarre cameo from Larry King (yes, you read that right) and a number of scantily clad women twerking and partying aboard a spaceship.

Billy Ray — uh, make that Cyrus — even throws in a quick reference to daughter Miley’s smash hit “Wrecking Ball,” for good measure.

Learn the Real Names of Country’s Biggest Stars

Buck 22 is the son of Dionne Warwick, and he admitted Cyrus was none too sure about the idea at first.

“I asked if he would mind if I could take a crack at remaking ‘Achy Breaky Heart” the rapper recounted in an interview with Rolling Stone. “He looked at me for a moment, and said, ‘lots of people have tried already, but go for it.’”

Cyrus eventually gave his approval and even went into the studio, and the resulting track and video resulted in massive exposure for the country singer.

“Achy Breaky Heart” shot Cyrus to instant stardom upon its release in 1992, and the country star has re-recorded the track in yet another new rendition released April 28.
