Billy Ray Cyrus takes a walk down memory lane in the new video for his song, "Hey Daddy."

The mellow song finds the country star reminiscing on days past filled with sweet memories, saying at the beginning of the video, "Time sure does fly by, just goes on and on and on, one day you look up and it's all gone."

Cyrus pieces together old family footage from his childhood, as well as when he was a young father himself, reliving fond memories. The video shows that music really does run in the family, opening with shots of a woman seated at the piano, while another relative plays the fiddle and a couple of little ones playing the drums.

The "Achy Breaky Heart" singer's trademark mullet also makes an appearance in videos from the days when his own kids were just tots, sharing precious moments of his children taking their first steps and learning to say "dada." There may even be a shot or two of his superstar daughter Miley Cyrus, along with Billy Ray pushing an adorable little Noah on the swing.

"My Dad always said, 'Never forget where you come from. It makes you who you are.' And well, as usual, he's right," Billy Ray shares alongside the nostalgic video on YouTube.

"Hey Daddy" was originally released in 2006 on Cyrus' album, Wanna Be Your Joe. He isn't the only one writing songs about family. Miley has been sharing a new song she wrote about her father titled "Inspired," which is set to be included on her upcoming 2017 album.

Cyrus shocked fans when he announced that he's legally changing his name just to "Cyrus" in 2017 on his birthday, Aug. 25. Shortly after, he revealed he hadn't totally decided, saying he would let fans choose his new name.
