Billy Ray Cyrus Joins Hair Metal Band Steel Panther for Billy Idol Cover [Watch]

It’s as outrageous and entertaining as you think it might be. Country legend Billy Ray Cyrus on stage with hair metal band Steel Panther, rocking out on punk-rocker Billy Idol‘s ‘Rebel Yell’ … and of course there’s video.

It happened on Monday night (April 7) during a Steel Panther show on Sunset Strip. The country singer didn’t seem out of place in front of the eye liner and tights-wearing rock act. And he owned the famous 1983 hit.

Of course the ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ singer has proven his willingness to step far outside the country genre to create entertainment. Earlier this year he cut a remix of the ’90s hit with Buck 22. In fact, this is far from the first time he’s teamed with Steel Panther. The two acts — who appear to be good friends — covered the song as far back as 2008.

This performance took place at the House of Blues. Steel Panther just released a new album called ‘All You Can Eat,’ and it debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard Top 200 this week.
