Blake Shelton and his fellow coaches have already begun filming Season 11 of The Voice. According to US Weekly, this season Shelton will get help from Bette Midler as a mentor on the reality singing competition.

US Weekly reports that this isn't the first time the "Wind Beneath My Wings" singer has been discussed as a guest on The Voice. During Season 9, Adam Levine told The Voice's cameras that if he could pick a fifth coach it'd be Midler.

"I dig you, Bette," he said. "Come and join us!"

Other mentors this season include Joan Jett, who will work with Miley Cyrus, Van Halen's former lead singer Sammy Hagar will assist Levine, and Charlie Puth who will collaborate with Alicia Keys.

The celebrity advisers will appear during the Battle Rounds. The Voice will return on NBC Sept. 19.

When Shelton isn't filming The Voice, he has been enjoying his summer surprising Gwen Stefani audiences for special performances with his girlfriend as well as headlining last-minute concerts for fans. Yesterday (July 27), the singer announced that he had a day off and he'd be scheduling a surprise show for fans in Kansas City. The singer made the announcement on Twitter with a series of tweets.

In the span of a few minutes Shelton announced a free show at Whiskey Tango in Kansas City, Mo. after some prompting from fans. The venue later posted a Facebook update, saying the first 2,500 people aged 21 and up will get in for free.
