Blake Shelton’s Mom on His Birthday: ‘I Birthed This Big Thing’

The Shelton family does birthdays big, and there was no shortage of fun for Blake Shelton's celebration over the weekend. The star's 41st birthday was June 18, and he spent his special day surrounded by family and girlfriend Gwen Stefani.

In a video uploaded to Facebook, Shelton's mother and girlfriend serenade him as he's about to blow out the candles on his birthday cake. "Happy birthday, dear Blakey," they sing, much to his mother's enjoyment. "We both said Blakey!"

Stefani captured the sweet moment on video as his mother hugs hum around the neck and talks to the camera, saying hilariously: "I birthed this big thing!"

Stefani was on-hand all weekend to celebrate Shelton's birthday with him, frequently posting photos and videos for fans. She shared pictures of the singer relaxing on a boat, about to cut into his armadillo birthday cake and getting some sweet kisses.

The couple have been inseparable over the past year, with Stefani noting that their relationship has taught her a lot about country music: "I’ve learned so much about heart — your heart in music — just by listening to a lot of this country music."
