The fifth season of 'The Voice' kicks off Monday night, and Blake Shelton is excited to be a part of what he predicts will be the most competitive season of the reality television competition yet.

Shelton is excited that 'The Voice' will bring back its original coaches -- Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine -- this season, though he believes that will make things especially interesting...

“I think it’s going to create probably the most competitive season that we’ve seen on 'The Voice' so far because the four of us -- it really brings back those original rivalries that we had in the beginning,” the 'Mine Would Be You' star says, according to Country Weekly.

Of course, those rivalries are all friendly, even though Shelton has won three consecutive seasons of the show. Despite the other judges' losing records, the 'Boys 'Round Here' hitmaker insists that they are all good friends.

"It's a reminder of how lucky we were to accidentally somehow end up with four people who actually became instant friends and who argue and bicker like friends do, like family do, and we love like family," the country star adds.

To watch the drama unfold this season, tune in to NBC on Monday nights at 8PM ET. Season 5 of 'The Voice' kicks off Monday (Sept. 23).
