Brad Paisley is getting ready to release a new album, but the highlight of his 'Jimmy Kimmel' appearance this week was the new theme song he wrote for America's best-known redneck child --  'The Ballad of Honey Boo Boo.'

"You're getting involved in television," Kimmel said to set up the gag, to which Paisley replied, "This is really exciting." With that, they played a hilarious clip that intermingled comical shots of Paisley inserted into existing footage of the show, which follows the lives of six-year-old beauty pageant contestant Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her family. Their bizarre antics have made the "reality" show 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' must-see train wreck TV.

To the accompaniment of a classic country groove, Paisley sings, "An American hero right down to the core / She eats her meals right off the floor," which is (sadly) an accurate depiction of something that actually happened on the program. And while the country star was obviously kidding, the truth is, including his song in the new season of the show really couldn't make it any stranger than it already is.
