Brad Paisley followed up his recent funny stint on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' -- where he and the host teamed up for the parody protest song 'Balls in Your Mouth' -- with a serious turn on 'America's Got Talent.' The singer and guitarist performed his ballad 'I Can't Change the World' on the summer's hottest reality talent show, and it was a moving, poignant delivery.

With lights and an image of the earth spinning on its axis on the screen behind him, the camera also focused on Paisley's hands on his guitar. Overall, it was a contemplative and thoughtful performance of the 'Wheelhouse' track.

These two TV appearances demonstrated both sides of Paisley -- the fun and goofy side and the serious, artistic one.

While in the song Paisley may lament that he can't change the world, he sure made a valiant attempt with his performance. If anything, he may have converted some of the show's younger viewers into country music fans, and that's always a good thing.

His performance earned a standing ovation from the judge's panel, including the one and only Howard Stern.
