Brad Paisley and his lovely wife, 'Nashville' star Kimberly Williams-Paisley, are a big-hearted pair. The couple is doing its part to help those less fortunate in Haiti by participating in the Live Beyond…Thirst Initiative, which is part of the Live Beyond program launched by Drs. David and Laurie Vanderpool. The particular initiative provides clean water to people in Thomazeau, Haiti, a poor suburb of the capital of Port au Prince.

The Paisleys opened their wallets and lent their time to the project, supporting the organization with both a financial contribution and by volunteering. Live Beyond…Thirst is aiming to establish 100 clean water collection sites to help improve community health and prevent diseases.

"Going to Haiti really opened my eyes to the plight of these hundreds of thousands of people -- many of them mothers, fathers, and children -- who are our neighbors. With Live Beyond...Thirst, we can help give them a basic human necessity they have never had: clean water," Kimberly Williams-Paisley said in a statement. "I want to show them they are not forgotten."

People with easy access to clean water tend to take it for granted. When it becomes scarce, as it has in this region, measures need to be taken to help provide and further protect it.

As David Vanderpool said, "Water-borne disease is by far the leading cause of illness we treat in our medical clinics. If there is one action that will have the greatest impact to community health, it's providing clean water."

Brad and Kimberly are inviting others to participate in the effort alongside them via "The Pailsey Challenge." Go here and here to learn how to you can help.
