Brad Paisley Joins Tony Bennett on ‘They Can’t Take That Away From Me’
Brad Paisley joins an already impressive list of country stars pairing up with Tony Bennett on the legend's new 'Duets II' album. Fans will get Paisley and Bennett's version of 'They Can't Take That Away From Me' when they buy the deluxe version of the album at Target, and they can preview it now at The Boot.
Like Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill, Paisley works well outside his country comfort zone in this easy lounge ballad. At times he sounds like a different singer, reaching up to hit notes in tones his most loyal fans will hardly recognize. Only a few licks of his signature guitar sound can be heard throughout the piece, until he has room for an understated solo leading to the final chorus.
Willie Nelson is the other country artist to work with Bennett on the album, which hits stores September 20. On Friday, both Bennett and Underwood will appear during the season premiere of 'Blue Bloods' on CBS. They'll sing 'It Had to Be You' during a mock fundraiser.
