Brett Eldredge is going to be touring with People's Sexiest Man Alive next year, and he's pumped about it. He also understands why Blake Shelton was chosen.

It's easy to compare the two country crooners. Both are strong vocalists in oversized bodies. Both Eldredge and Shelton are overflowing with personality and willing to share on social media. Both have non-traditional sex appeal.

"He's a sexy man," Eldredge tells Taste of Country and other media upon learning the news that Shelton is 2017's man of appeal. "But he's a big goofball too, which is the new sexy."

"Goofy is the new sexy," he adds.

Like Luke Bryan, Eldredge was responding in a cheeky sort of way. The smile on his face let everyone nearby know he was mostly joking. Mostly, because "The Long Way" singer could actually explain it.

"He’s honest he’s real, he’s unapologetically himself," Eldredge said prior to performing at the CMA Country Christmas special. "He’s as real as he is on the The Voice or on stage, he’s the same off stage as well."

CMA Country Christmas runs on ABC on Nov. 27 at 8PM ET. Eldredge and Shelton will embark on the Country Music Freaks Tour beginning in February. The "I'll Name the Dogs" singer just notched a No. 1 album with Texoma Shore.
