2014 was a breakthrough year for Brett Eldredge, and he's ready to celebrate ... and relax. The singer will perform 'Beat of the Music' at the American Country Countdown Awards in Nashville Monday night (Dec. 15). Recently he learned the track was the most played song on country radio in 2014!

According to Billboard, Eldredge's Gold hit from 'Bring You Back' edged out Justin Moore's 'Lettin' the Night Roll' for the top song honors.

"I will try to do my best to celebrate over the holidays and over the new year," Eldredge said during a recent conference call. "I think I’m going to go maybe take a trip to a beach somewhere and see if I can go on some kind of fishing adventure and get lost for a while and soak it all in."

When 'Beat of the Music' hit No. 1, Eldredge went diving with sharks. That didn't close the door on celebrating the moment, however. The Illinois-native says he's amazed a "jumble of words" around a groove caught on so quickly.

"That’s why I got in to this music, to have the opportunity to be a songwriter and to have the opportunity for people to sing those songs that came from your soul and that you wrote with other folks," he explains.

Monday's 8PM ET FOX broadcast is the first for the American Country Countdown Awards. Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are set to host, while stars like Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan are primed to perform. It will be Eldredge's first major awards show performance.

"I remember when people didn’t know any of my songs, so you’re just begging for someone to just listen to your song or play your song somewhere," he dishes. "It’s going to be my first full, full jam of this song on an awards show, and I’m pumped this is my debut song to do it with."
