Country Artist Briana Tyson Involved in Multi-Car Accident
Country recording artist Briana Tyson survived a multi-car accident while on her way to a radio tour stop on Thursday afternoon (March 31).
Tyson was on her way to Cookeville, Tenn. radio stations to promote her current single, "Throwback," alongside her publicist, Julie Reliford. While en route, the pair's car hit a slick part of the road, which caused them to hydroplane.
After a 180-degree spin-out, the car hit a truck that had stopped to assist another hydroplaned car, and then the guardrail before finally coming to a stop. The car was completely totaled.
Luckily, both Tyson and Reliford made it out of the wreck with very minor injuries. Reliford emerged with bumps and bruises, while Tyson suffered a broken collar bone.
"I am so beyond grateful that everyone involved was okay. It was quite possibly one of the scariest moments of my life, but I know God had his hand of protection on us today," Tyson shares in a press release. "For me to walk away with only a broken collarbone is such a blessing. I so appreciate the support and prayers that I have already received from amazing fans and friends in the industry. I’m bummed we didn't get to visit everyone in Cookeville, but as soon as I am healed up I promise you we will be back!"
Tyson has had to postpone several upcoming performances as well as studio time in the next few weeks, but promises to return pending recovery.
