The winner of The Voice Season 14 was announced Tuesday night (May 22), and the result turned out to usher in a night of firsts. Coach Kelly Clarkson won, in her very first season, with youngest champion ever Brynn Cartelli.

Cartelli, who is just 15, was a fan favorite throughout the season for her mature-beyond-her-years delivery. Although she's officially the youngest finalist to win the series, she joins some other previous teen standouts from the show: Danielle Bradbery (Season 4) and Sawyer Christopher Fredericks (Season 8), both of whom were 16 at the time.

Clarkson no doubt was riding high herself, having bested her friendly rival Blake Shelton, who with six wins is the most awarded coach in Voice history. She also pulled ahead of formidable competitor Alicia Keys, who won in Season 12.

Clarkson will be returning to the show for Season 15, along with another veteran coach, Jennifer Hudson, who served for Season 13. Shelton's two team members, Spensha Baker and Kyla Jade, took fourth and third place, respectively. The runner-up was Britton Buchanan from Team Alicia.
