Bucky Covington Accused of Theft

Regardless of the outcome of a police investigation in Orlando, Fla., it's doubtful Bucky Covington will ever play the Iron Horse Saloon again. A club promoter claims that while he was being rushed to the hospital with chest pains, the country singer and one-time 'American Idol' contestant made off with $1500 from a cash box. He further alleges that Covington's brother Rocky and Rocky's wife were also in on the heist.

The supposed theft occurred on June 30, before Covington was preparing to play a gig commemorating the Fourth of July NASCAR week celebration in Orlando. TMZ caught up with the 'A Different World' singer, who firmly denied the charges, adding, "I'm just glad I'm big enough to be on TMZ! Thanks!"

This summer, Covington is playing state fairs across the country, including dates this weekend in West Virginia and Texas. He is currently engaged to longtime girlfriend Katherine Cook, but told Taste of Country in April that he's in no hurry to get hitched. “No pressure, no pressure yet. The way I look at it is why mess up a good thing?”
