Caitlyn Smith will release her debut album, Starfire, on Friday (Jan. 19), but first she made a stop at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to show the nation what she can do.

Smith launched into a powerful four-minute number during which she channeled soul queens like Aretha Franklin and Adele. Donning a black sequin jumpsuit, Smith's sultry vocals are captured forever in the clip above — she grabs the listener immediately as she begins "Contact High." Singing of how she's losing her cool around a man, her jaw-dropping belt keeps the audience mesmerized and screaming for more.

It was a memorable performance, and at one point Smith knelt on the ground as she sang part of the song before getting up, grabbing a tambourine and dancing around the stage. Her energy was contagious, as she had even Fallon captivated.

At the close of her set, the late night host walked up to her clearly blown away. "Man, that's how you do it! Wow," he marveled.

While Smith's performance stunned the host, it also had a major impact on her. It was no doubt a career highlight, with Smith remarking on Twitter: "That was the most incredible experience of my life."

Starfire is her full-length new project and includes several songs featured on her 2016 EP of the same name, which Taste of Country named a Critic's Pick.
