Breakout star Cam has made an unforgettable impression with her recent ballad "Burning House," and now she has a gilded plaque to prove it. The artist was surprised at her label, Sony Nashville (Arista), on Oct. 13 with an official RIAA Gold certification for the tune, marking 500,000 copies sold.

Co-written by the artist, the song was inspired by a personal experience in Cam’s life, part of what gives the song its honest quality. It has earned nearly 13 million streams on Spotify, where her EP, Welcome to Cam Country, debuted exclusively earlier this year.

Cam debuted a music video for the single on Entertainment Tonight following a behind-the-scenes segment on Wednesday. She also performed the song on Good Morning America in September and treated fans to a beautiful duet on the Bobby Bones radio show with Kelsea Ballerini.

In addition, the newcomer made many appearances at festivals around the country this summer and is on Chase Rice’s JD and Jesus Tour, which kicked off this month.

With her first EP, Cam has been stepping out on her own after her career behind the scenes, writing songs for artists like Maggie Rose and Miley Cyrus. She now shares a label with vets like Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, where she is working on a full length record. To top it all off, she recently got engaged!
