Carrie Underwood to Celebrate Veteran’s Day With Televised Concert in Washington

Carrie Underwood is joining forces with more than a few famous friends to celebrate Veteran's Day in 2014.

On Nov. 11, Underwood will join HBO, Starbucks and a host of well-known musicians and actors to honor American soldiers during the Concert for Valor in Washington, D.C.

During this free concert event -- hosted on the National Mall -- the country songstress will share the stage with fellow country act Zac Brown Band, in addition to a broad array of artists from other genres. Fans can expect performances by Eminem, Rihanna, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, Metallica and even 'The Boss' himself, Bruce Springsteen.

Actor Tom Hanks will serve as one of the show's executive producers, and considerable star power has been brought in, with appearances by Jamie Foxx, satire news anchor John Oliver, Steven Spielberg and Meryl Streep. The live show is presented by HBO and Starbucks and will air live on the broadcast station.

"Their immeasurable sacrifice deserves our nation’s gratitude. This event will not only celebrate their service, but help remind Americans of the many challenges they face on and off the battlefield. We are delighted to join with Starbucks in our mutual effort to pay tribute to our veterans and those currently serving in the military."

The Concert for Valor hopes to provide a national stage to show America's genuine gratitude for veterans and their families and to raise awareness for organizations dedicated to serving veterans through education, health, reemployment and reintegration programs. Concert donations will be given to many of these veterans outreach and service organizations.

The Concert for Valor will air on HBO on Nov. 11 at 7PM ET, and the free live event is expected to draw millions of viewers.
