Carrie Underwood has been chosen to kick off the annual Country Radio Seminar (CRS) on March 2-4 in Nashville. Underwood will sing the National Anthem, officially opening the private event for professionals in country radio. Put on by the Country Radio Broadcasters (or CRB), Country Radio Seminar is a week long happening filled with seminars, concerts, industry dinners and a chance to meet just about every country star you would want.

This will be Underwood’s first time to perform the National Anthem at CRS, and it will take place in downtown Nashville.

"We are very appreciative and very excited to welcome one of the biggest superstars in country music to our event. Carrie is certainly going to get us started in style!" CRB President Mike Culotta says in a statement.

Blake Shelton will headline the CRS Music City Jam that night.

Underwood kicks off her Play On Tour on May 1, and USA Today reports that her tune ‘Temporary Home’ more than doubled its downloads from last week. That very well could be due to contestant Paris Tassin singing the song during her ‘American Idol’ audition recently.
