It's always hard to outshine Carrie Underwood, but it was nearly impossible when she walked the red carpet that the 2013 Emmy Awards on Sunday night (Sept. 22).

Underwood was draped in more than 152 carats of Johnathan Arndt diamonds at the red carpet event of the year.

According to reps from Johnathan Arndt, Underwood wore an $18 million diamond necklace, as well as a matching pair of $3.2 million diamond studs. The high-end jeweler also designed a $4 million pear-shaped diamond solitaire ring for Underwood's right hand.

Dressed in a gorgeous purple Romona Keveza gown, the 'Good Girl' hitmaker was on hand at the 2013 Emmys to perform the Beatles' hit 'Yesterday.' Most likely, Underwood was showcasing her vocal talent for television fans before her starring role in 'The Sound of Music' airs in December.

It can't be easy to perform one of the Beatles' most famous hits -- especially when you're clad in millions of dollars of jewelry -- but Paul McCartney himself took the pressure off of the country songstress.

"The coolest thing about singing 'Yesterday' on the Emmys is the sweet letter I got from @PaulMcCartney giving me his blessing to sing it!" Underwood tweeted after her performance.

The 2013 Emmy Awards were the second time Underwood got to walk a red carpet modeling Johnathan Arndt jewels. At the Grammys in February, the award-winning country star sported a $31 million necklace from the jewelry designer.
