USA Today reports that for tonight's performance finale of Season 10 of 'American Idol,' remaining contestants Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery will be singing three songs each. One song for each singer is being chosen by their personal idols. For Alaina, 'Idol' season four winner Carrie Underwood chose the song, while George Strait has selected a song for McCreery. How's that for a dream come true? Whoever loses still gets to enjoy a chance of a lifetime by having their idol choose a song for them to sing.

While it would be amazing to see Alaina follow in Underwood's footsteps and become an 'American Idol,' it's worth noting that McCreery sang Strait's 'I Cross My Heart' on the eighth episode of the season. Each remaining singer is certainly inspired by the person choosing their song, so tonight's gonna be good.

In other 'Idol' performance news, Alaina and McCeery will each sing their favorite song from this season as well as their debut singles, news which we scooped yesterday!

We wonder if Scotty McCreery will be allowed to sing Josh Turner's 'Your Man' again; he sang the song twice during auditions, so it probably doesn't count. Both he and Alaina have country roots, so it's anyone's game this week.
