Carrie Underwood made sure any of the buzz surrounding other dresses at the 2013 Grammy Awards was 'Blown Away' by wearing a light-up dress that literally lit up the Staples Center.

The Best Country Solo Performance winner spilled the secrets of the dress backstage, according to ABC News. "They can do a lot of amazing things with projectors these days," she reveals. The fabric of her show-stealing dress was made of of special material that can be projected onto, creating a magical and breathtaking effect.

"It was all projection and it took a lot of people getting everything just right so the projection wasn't [off]. I had to stand in the exact same place. I was actually barefoot on apple boxes," Underwood told ET Online.

The country songstress who isn't used to donning the stage sans shoes, says, "I never sing barefoot and it felt really weird. But they were nice enough to put those little Dr. Scholl's [insoles] underneath my feet so it... felt good, kind of cool."

The Grammy-winning hitmaker didn't show any signs of discomfort during her spot-on performance of 'Two Black Cadillacs' and 'Blown Away,' although the $31 million necklace she was wearing may have made her a little nervous.

With the 2013 Grammys now behind her, the powerhouse vocalist will be heading back onto the road for her Blown Away Tour. When she finally arrives back home, she should definitely enjoy some much-deserved relaxation -- and watch lots of movies projected onto her Grammys dress.
