Carrie Underwood is planning to bring some country twang to the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on May 20. The country mega-star will share the stage with big name pop artists like Justin Bieber, LMFAO and the Wanted.

Just like last year, the awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. With an equally stellar line-up of performers, the event is sure to draw a red carpet-worthy crowd.

The awards show will arrive just a few weeks after Underwood releases 'Blown Away' on May 1. With more than 14 million albums sold worldwide, 14 No. 1 singles, five Grammys and countless other accolades, the 'Good Girl' singer is a perfect addition to the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

With a solid track record of album sales and accolades, Underwood's 2012 release has a lot to live up to. Her 2005 debut, 'Some Hearts,' held down the fort atop Billboard's Country Albums chart for 27 weeks. To date, it has sold over 7 million copies and was voted No. 1 Country Album of the Decade by Billboard. Underwood followed up her debut acclaim with her 2007 sophomore album, 'Carnival Ride,' and 2009's 'Play On.' Both albums debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Country and All-Genre Album Charts.

Over the course of three albums, Underwood has saturated country radio with such No. 1 hits, including 'Jesus, Take the Wheel,' 'Before He Cheats,' 'Mama's Song' and many more.
