It all comes down to this. Country fans have decided the finalists. The top female vocalist of the year will square off against the top male vocalist of the year in this fan-voted contest to decide country's top vocalist of either sex. After a record week of voting, Carrie Underwood will take on Blake Shelton.

It's certainly not surprising to see the two dependable hitmakers in the final round of this month-long contest. Each survived three rounds of voting to get here. In the Semifinals, Underwood topped Reba McEntire, taking almost 60 percent of the vote. It was another tight win for the superstar.

Shelton took almost 57 percent of the vote and the most single-round votes of anyone in this competition to beat Trace Adkins. Adkins was a fan-favorite and a popular underdog to reach the Finals. But Shelton's loyal fanbase was too large to take down.

Country fans will get to choose between the two up to once every hour during this week-long contest. Voting ends on April 3 at 11:59PM ET, one hour after the 2016 ACM Awards wrap up on CBS. This is the only fan-decided top vocalist category. Sixteen singers were chosen from the year's most active and popular singers in country music. The men and women were paired in separate brackets, and round by round the field was whittled to eight, then four, and finally two.

The winner of this Top Vocalist of 2016 contest will be announced on April 4.
