This 1979 hit from the Charlie Daniels Band is still what brings fans out to see the famous frontman and fiddler. Over 30 years later, one can still find 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' featured on country, and even rock, radio stations. It was a huge crossover hit thanks to the movie 'Urban Cowboy,' and a country chart-topper.

However, fast fiddling alone isn't good enough to land a song inside the Top 10 of the Top 100 Country Songs list. Daniels also spins a great story, borrowing liberally from traditional folk songs. Never has a country song sounder meaner or more foreboding than when the bearded singer picks up his bow. We're rooting for Johnny every time like it's the first.
