Chely Wright's documentary 'Wish Me Away,' which chronicles her very personal experience coming out as an openly lesbian woman, has not only garnered respect, it's also seen a lot of success. And it keeps on growing, as the film has just been nominated for one of the top honors in film -- an Emmy.

'Wish Me Away' is nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy Award, earning Showtime a nomination for Outstanding Informational Programming - Long Form award, according to Nashville Gab. Since its release in 2012, 'Wish Me Away' has won quite a few awards along the way, including 2012 Nashville Film Festival Audience Award winner for Best Documentary and a recent nomination for a GLAAD Award.

Wright, who recently welcomed twin boys with her wife Lauren Blitzer-Wright, has shown her bravery and steely determination throughout this past year, especially since she felt extremely shut out by the country music industry after coming out, with only a few country music stars choosing to support her.

Well, her brave choice is finally paying off, as she's advocating for what she truly believes in despite the animosity she receives from others. The Emmy awards will be presented on October 11 at a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
